Samantha Willis, Publisher and Senior Editor, is a native Virginian, passionate publisher, and a dedicated writer. She draws on her past experiences as a freelance writer and editor to motivate her in her current role of publisher and senior editor of Capital City Books. Samantha loves working as a writing coach and mentor; she facilitates writer’s workshops and individual classes, in the hopes of developing and promoting fresh and exciting creative writing within Virginia. Samantha is also a professional editor, with a wide range of experience in editing various professional creative works, including novels, journalistic articles, short stories, and academic writing. She attended Radford University, where she studied English. She is the author of a children’s book, “The Little Adventures of Bella and DJ: Travels In Virginia,” which she wrote to inspire kids in Virginia and throughout the country to learn about her home state. She is an avid reader, and loves all things literary. She lives in Midlothian, Virginia with her husband Jamaal and two dogs, Bella and DJ.

Sarah McCollum, Advisor, has edited creative, academic and corporate works, published book projects and served as a marketing and creative strategist for individuals and organizations. With a background in teaching university-level writing courses, she enjoys all types of editing projects as well as working as a writing coach and mentor. She holds an M.A. in English from the University of Tennessee where she also achieved Ph.D. candidacy (ABD) in English Literature. Sarah lives in Richmond where she reads, gardens, tries her hand at web design and entertains her two cats.

Lauren O'Neill, Graphic Designer, has designed books, posters, mailers, websites, brand identities and other materials for businesses, organizations and individuals. She earned a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University where she was a member of the University Honors and Arts Honors Colleges.
